Title: Process Mapping: A Working Introduction
Event: City of Portland, Professional Development Training
Date: September 16, 2015, 8:30 A.M. - 12:30 P.M.
Speaker: Christopher Dennis
Have you been asked to document your process? Getting ready for a new software implementation? Need to get more efficient?
This seminar helps you create a process map of something you care about while learning valuable process mapping skills. Using each participant’s process as a primary focus, we will learn methods for rapid mapping and how to identify valuable collaborators. Next we’ll address the fundamentals of mapping the details: learning how to ask questions that reveal intermediate work products, decision making criteria, and process variability. With these techniques in hand, we will expand our maps and then learn to use maps as communication tools.
