Title: Practical Project Management, The Crucial Highlights

Event: Nike

Date: August 15th & 17th, 2017, 8:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M.

Speaker: Christopher Dennis

Summary
  • Want to take your project performance to the next level or a new direction?
  • Want the project and people to turn out better when you’re in charge?
  • Need methods to get the work done more effectively?

This workshop gives participants the opportunity to learn and practice principles of managing projects. Teams and individuals bring a real project—at the beginning of its life cycle—to forward and learn from in real time. Start strong and learn while you work.

Course Objectives

By the end of the session, attendees will be better able to:

  • Identify, manage and collaborate with project stakeholders
  • Transform project goals into work, suitable for delegation and tracking during execution
  • Proactively identify a project’s critical path and other management challenges
  • Report project progress using meaningful metrics
  • Choose appropriate tools from the project management toolbox
  • Hand over work effectively from a project team to operations teams
Bring Your Project, Learn and Do

This seminar is active. Participants should arrive at the seminar with a project they want to work on.

Projects that are early in their life cycle are better for learning purposes than projects that are later in their life cycle.

Very large and very small projects are not especially good for learning in the context of this course. For best results, pick a project that requires at least a three-person collaboration and has fewer than about fifty collaborators.
