Steaming Kettle Consulting is offsetting carbon emissions generated by all its business travel, including Portland-area commuting to client job sites.
Working on a yearly basis with the Bonneville Environmental Foundation, Steaming Kettle buys BEF Carbon Offsets, which are Green-e® Climate Certified and the highest certification possible. Starting in 2008, Steaming Kettle has purchased carbon credits that exceed estimated usage by at least 10%.
This marks a significant milestone in Steaming Kettle’s campaign to reduce overall carbon emissions. Steaming Kettle began using Portland General Electric’s Green Source electricity program in 2007.
Since 2019, Steaming Kettle uses Tilamook Public Utility District's Green Power program to source 100% of its electricity.
To offset Steaming Kettle’s travel emissions, BEF will use cash generated by the sale of credits to create and maintain renewable energy projects such as White Creek Wind Farm near Goldendale, Washington.
