Summary
- Interested in taking your technical presentation skills to the next level?
- Need to share information and recommendations in ways that change the minds of decision-makers?
- Want your ideas to align people’s efforts, to get them into action?
Sharing technical information in a way that alters decisions and behaviors is challenging, especially with management and audiences who don’t share our technical expertise.
This practice-driven seminar helped participants understand how minds are changed and how to create presentations, and especially visuals, that aid the process.
We learned the five major steps of persuasion, then re-arranged our current work to fit the pattern. We authored and honed a call to action, then made that show up visually. We intermingled emotional cues with quantitative data, photographs and diagrams to share messages powerfully and quickly. We became more insightful editors of visual content.
The seminar leaned on the work of practical behavioral scientists like Robert Cialdini whose work is tested daily the hard-knock world of sales, where the primary goal is to get a customer to change their mind.
